About Glenn's Style

My strengths as a mediator are that I establish a natural rapport with people and am adept at listening, defusing emotional blocks and building cooperation. My focus is "getting the deal done" by fostering a positive, flexible, collaborative environment. My strengths include calm patience and gentle tenacity; the ability to discern underlying motives, feelings and agendas; integrity, establishing credibility as a neutral; creative problem-solving, people skills and sense of humor; and tailoring my approach as appropriate under the circumstances. I respect the parties' time by being prepared and reviewing all materials in advance, and expect the same of counsel and the parties by coming prepared and serious about mediation.

Terms

Hourly fees: Mr. Gottlieb's current rate for mediation services is $400 per hour (min. three hours), to be shared equally by each party. All preparation time, including pre-and post-mediation discussions with counsel, review of briefs and legal research, if necessary, and travel time are charged.

An advance deposit of fees is required for the three-hour minimum. The minimum fee is due immediately upon scheduling of a mediation, and is not refundable if the mediation is cancelled or taken off calendar for any reason within one week of the scheduled date. There is a $50 fee if the mediation is rescheduled or cancelled within two weeks of the originally-scheduled date.

Immediate payment is required at the end of the mediation session, so the parties are expected to bring a check with them in case the mediation exceeds three hours; there is a $75 charge if payment is not made on the mediation date. Any request for an alternative arrangement should be made and discussed with our office at least one week prior to the date of the mediation.

Half- and Full-Day Fixed Fee Sessions: A half-day session of up to four hours can be booked for a fixed fee of $1,500, including preparation and travel time. If the mediation exceeds four hours, the rate for each excess hour is $400.00. Immediate payment is required at the end of the mediation session, so the parties are expected to bring a check with them in case the mediation exceeds four hour; there is a $75 charge if payment is not made on the mediation date.

Full-day sessions (as many hours as required on the scheduled date), can be booked for a fixed fee of $3,000, including preparation and travel time.

An advance deposit of fees is required for half- and full-day sessions, and is due at the time of booking. There is a $50 fee if the mediation is rescheduled or cancelled within two weeks of the originally-scheduled date, and the full fee is non-refundable if the mediation is cancelled, rescheduled or taken off calendar for any reason within one week of the scheduled date.

Confidentiality is strictly protected. All parties are required to execute an Agreement to Mediate at the convening of each Mediation Session.
